Our first chapter book!
A few days ago I decided I would try reading chapter books to Anthony at bedtime and see if he would get into them or if I need to hold off for a bit longer.
Our first book was "Magic Tree House: Dragon of the Red Dawn"
It was a huge hit! Now I am on a quest to find more Magic Tree House books for bedtime. :)

J likes Diary of a Wimpy Kid, and has really enjoyed reading those books every night. They're doing Magic Treehouse in school, so I think I'll wait on that, lest I duplicate! There are tons of chapter books to choose from, and I'm so glad he's at the age where he enjoys them, finally!
ReplyDeleteDo the Wimpy Kid books have some pictures? The Magic Tree House book has pictures, but not on every page. They are just enough to keep him interested. I don't think he would pay attention if it didn't have the pictures...
